We are committed to being part of the solution. We measure our Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) and consistently reduce emissions across our global operations. Energy-efficient buildings, renewable electricity, photovoltaic projects and a sustainable supply chain are key to our climate strategy. We have implemented management systems for to systematically improve energy performance, efficiency, and consumption, reducing costs and environmental impact such as the ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 in various locations and are going to expand these in the near future. Furthermore, a consistent circular economy plan helps us to strategically turn waste into valuable resources.

Climate Action

Climate action at Gebr. Heinemann follows clear commitments. We transparently demonstrate our commitment to energy efficiency and environmental protection through ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certification. Our emission targets are validated by the Science Based Targets initiative, aligning us with global climate goals. We invest in solar energy at logistics centers and secure long-term sustainable power agreements with airports and partners. At the same time, we make our supply chain significantly more sustainable by introducing electric trucks, expanding the use of HVO100 biodiesel, and adopting new technologies such as electrified trailers. Also, we work on innovative, cross-industry initiatives, such as KLIMAready, to evolve our energy and electricity infrastructure towards net zero in 2030 and partner with a broad range of stakeholders to reach our targets.

Resource & Waste Management

Our resource and waste management follows circular economy principles. Guided by our Waste to Value 2030-Strategy, we reduce waste, extend product life cycles and optimize resource use. We embed reuse, recycling and responsible disposal into everyday processes to minimize environmental impact and create a future where resources are used responsibly and sustainably.
